Wow, Disneyland......how cool is that!!! Today was definitely a Sienna day. We all enjoyed ourselves, the sights, the sounds, the magic of it all but for Sienna, today was incredible. We admittedly spent a lot of the day standing around, lining up and searching for ways to keep cool but Sienna came away with an autograph book filled with pictures and signatures from nearly all the Disney princesses. She loved it!!!! They all chatted to her, commented on her dress and were generally very princessy!!! It was truly gorgeous. For most princesses the wait time was about 20 to 30 minutes and with the lines mostly being in the shade this provided a nice rest time, however to see Anna and Elsa (who Sienna was dressed like) the line was just over 2 hours long. Not meeting them and getting autographs was simply not an option so into the line Wess hopped!!! The girls and I wandered about, tried to pull the sword from the stone, rode the huge carousel, met a few other princesses and then rejoined wess with about 15 minutes to wait. Was the 2 hour wait worth it!??? Absolutely....the 1 minute that Sienna spent with Anna and Elsa made her day, you simply can't put a price on the magic that happens when a little girl meets her favourite 'real life' princess.
We then enjoyed the small rides and walkthroughs that make up the Fantasyland section of Disneyland. Carriage rides and walks that take you through the traditional and some newer fairy tales such as Snow White, Pinocchio and Tangled. We rode the Mark Twain Riverboat and Wess was serenaded in a performance at the Golden Horseshoe Hotel where Sienna had the biggest strawberry sundae We've ever seen!!
Wess and Talari braved Pirates of the Caribbean while Sienna and I climbed into Tarzan's treehouse and then we joined them for Pirates as well. The rides are so clever, lots to look at, varying degrees of screamness and smells even!!!
When it was time for the parade and fireworks we were stuck in the back with the other 'newbie' Disneyland visitors.....note to self.....snag a good spot early tomorrow!!!!
We ended our first day with a beautiful ride through the Small World display and a couple of rides on the Autopia car driving track where the cars are on tracks but you can steer them yourself and accelerate as well. Talari drove me around the track.....sort of.....her second attempt was much better apparently.....she went by herself so no witnesses!!!
Another midnight finish for us before the hour drive back to Hollywood. So glad we decided to do 2 days of Disney, we have barely scratched the surface of Disneyland and haven't even entered the gates of Disney Adventure park yet. I guess tomorrow will be another busy, lining up, hot day.......full of adventure, screams, magic and wonder......bring it on!!!!
