Yep, Disney again. We started at Disneyland, on a mission. We needed to ride the horse drawn carriage and we needed Princess Tiana's autograph. While we waited for the carriage we took the opportunity to have pictures with the traditional Disney folks, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. We then took our ride and wandered to the area where Princess Tiana apparently hangs out. We had frequented this area many times in the last two days to find her without luck so were unbelievably relieved when she appeared just as we sat for an early lunch. With mission accomplished we headed over to spend the rest of the day at California Adventure park.
Again we chose to cross the map as we went and with only half a day to complete as much as possible we were moving. This park was more ride focused than Disney and we simply went from ride to ride with most lines only being about 15 to 20 minutes waiting. We had great fun blasting targets with Buzz Lightyear, racking up points with Toy story and watching the girls get flung around by tractors on the Mater ride. Wess and the girls went Soaring over California in a 4D ish type ride and the girls worked their way through the Bug's life mini rides. We screamed and laughed through the Bugs Life 4D experience as we were stung by wasps, spat on by beetles, attacked by giant spiders and had roaches crawling inside our seats!!! Totally hilarious and yet still somewhat scream inducing!!
The girls completed challenges on an adventure course and we went white water tubing which was awesome and made us all quite wet. Wess unfortunately copped a squirting from the floor which landed directly between his legs!! Not the best look.....lol. We spun around in rockets, practiced drawing moving pictures and found out which Disney character we are most like: Wess turned out to be Marlin from Finding Nemo-determined and hard working; Talari was Mulan-clever and good at problem solving; Sienna was Alice in Wonderland-imaginative and not always following the rules and I was Mrs Incredible-loyal and......let's face it.....completely awesome!!!!!'.
The girls also had their 'scariest' ride so far which was a roller coaster type ride exactly like the old Mad Mouse from the Royal Show. They loved it and went on again without Wess. I stayed safely on the ground.....someone had to watch the bags....lol.
We really loved the set up of the Cars section of the park. The road looked exactly like it does in the film with the neon signs and the traffic cone buildings. Our last ride of the night was the Cars race and it was so fun. We toured the sights of the 'town' in our Lightning McQueen look alike car, had our tyres done by Luigi and then participated in a race around the track with the next car in line. If we had found this ride earlier we would have done it again but as it was closing we headed back to our real car and the long trip to our new digs in San Diego.
Three days of Disney Theme Park fun, maps with nearly all rides and experiences crossed off, extremely sore feet and tired legs, memories and laughs galore.....so glad we ended up buying the 3 day pass just incase....our first thoughts of just doing what we could in 1 day were hopelessly off the mark.
San Diego....here we come!!
