Today was a crazzzyy day in Paris! It was the music festival so after class we all booked it to the metro to go into the city. At first the interns took us on a little tour to places we haven't seen yet. We walked around the town hall and along the Seine River and also saw Notre Dame. We found a good French restaurant and a group of us sat down to get dinner. The best part about this trip, by far, is hanging out with all the different people from all over the world. Some of them live halfway across the world from me, living what seemed like a totally different life, yet it's crazy how much some of them remind me of my best friends from home. It's so cool to hear about their lives in their country and how similar they are to me. At dinner Nicholette, a girl from Australia, asked if anybody watched one tree hill. Did we just become best friends? Yes. We realized her and her best friend basically live a parallel life to my best friend and me and I pretty much have a twin from down under. What are the odds. Now I'm for sureee visiting and have plans/a place to stay! We also have trips lined up for Barbados too! Where it's always sunny and beach weather. Perfect. We're planning a reunion there so all of us can get together again next summer. Hopefully it happens! We all split bottles of wine and ordered 3 course meals. I got salad, salmon, and of course some ice cream. After we all finished eating we met back up with the group near Bastille to listen to bands for the festival. There were bands on pretty much every corner playing and some were even covering American songs so we could actually sing along! It was super fun just walking around with everyone and once it got to be pretty late we went to go find a club to dance at. Paris is a whole new world at night. It's crazy but fun and I definitely loved experiencing it with everyone! The club we went to was 2 levels and really cool. They played some Spanish music so the guys were teaching us how to salsa. We didn't get back to campus until 6 in the morning and saw the sun rising on the metro ride back. Back in America I would never be able to survive that late but in France somehow it's a lot easier to stay up. Maybe because the sun is out until so late, who knows. Anyways, I'm glad I got to experience Paris night life!
