Sadly the weather didn't improve at all during the day so instead of walking in the national park, we drove to Blue Hills Peninsula and visited some of the quaint little towns there - Surry, Blue Hill, Brooklin. According to the weather forecast, tomorrow is supposed to be fine all day so here's hoping.

But we did get to have a walk later this afternoon all around Bar Harbor. A pretty little town and jam packed with boutiques and restaurants, it caters to the hundreds who come ashore from the many cruise ships which moor in the harbour as well as to the thousands of locals who flock here in the summer for serious R&R. We had to find some real food tonight and finally settled on Porcelli's Italian Restaurant. I would like a dollar for every time an Italian restaurant has saved our stomachs! The food here was exquisite and no more expensive than average. Brad even found a dark beer which he liked - Bar Harbor Real Ale.
