Waiting for our boat to Bohol on Sunday, we decided to get some beers for the journey. The Philippines is an odd country. A few of the others asked for 28 beers (4 each) and they were told that they could have 12. Why don't they want our money?

Also, why do cash machines give out 500 and 1000 peso notes when the locals don't have change for them? And those that have change don't like giving it to you.

So anyway, we got on the boat and this took speedboat to a whole new level. It was fast and bumpy and by the end of the 2 hour journey most of us felt rough.

We had reserved some huts on the Loboc River, about 45 minutes from the port. We piled in a minivan and for 45 minutes we sang a selection of songs on our way to the river.

We chilled for an hour and booked up a tour for the next day. We headed to bed and agreed to meet for breakfast at 8am.

The next morning, we were picked up in a minivan and taken around a range of tourist spots. This is what we have named 'White Tax Day'. We spent the whole day travelling around and paying entrance to each of the places that we stopped at. In fact, all our tour cost covered was the minivan. Even our lunch on the river that was part of the tour, we had to pay for on top.

Anyway, although expensive, it was a really good day out. We headed out at about half 8 and the first stop was the chocolate hills. These were loads of big, green (usually brown) hills. They were more mint chocolate hills because it was the wet season.

Next stop was the main reason we came to Bohol, the tarsiers. These are the worlds smallest primates. Cute, bugged eyed little animals that just chill in the trees.

We then moved on to my highlight of the day. We had lunch on the river. A nice buffet meal, followed by Dan and Andy performing a couple of songs and a bit of a dance on the way back. Great fun!

Throughout the rest of the day, we drove through the man made forest, walked over the hanging bridge and visited the second oldest church in Asia.

The final stop of the day was to visit a huge python. Whilst there we had a look around and saw some baby turtles/terrapins. Ed knelt down next to them and casually sang "Alvin, Simon, Theodore". Instantly, the rest of us paused, looked at Ed and told him that they were chipmunks, not turtles. Haha. Andy then suggested to Ed that he may have been looking for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".

Just before heading back, Dan lost the game and had to eat garlic flavoured ice cream. He gave it a good go but eventually failed.

We arrived back at the huts at about 7pm, ate dinner, and then started drinking. There were a couple of girls from South Africa and they joined us for some drinking games. We drank, had a bit of a dance and then went for a swim in the Loboc river. A fun evening overall.

This morning we were up at 6am to get an early boat to Siquijor island. The plan there is to find somewhere to chill out and relax for a few days.
