(We ae actually at Santa Ponca but the map can't find it - so near enough)
While we have been waiting to get warranty work done we decided to do a few things that we probably wouldn't have done immediately but since we were just sitting waiting......also a few concerns re supply chains. So - a satellite stsyem, wifi and 5G booster and tables. The main table in the cockpit was untreated teak so every little thing left a mark and we were afraid to use it, that is being varnished and we are reliable informed that as it is out of the weather it will be OK. The flybridge table was a very usleless design where by it was hinged in the middle to fold up and become a bar. Nice idea but impractical - you had to be VERY careful not to lean on it (silly on a moving boat) and it caused the legs to be positioned in such a way that you couldn't get round the table! So it is being remade and the legs have been repositioned. It probably looked good on a promotional video.
Peter has turned (temporarily I'm told) one of the spare cabins in to a Man Cave. It's not a bad idea as it gets loads of devices, chargers and paperwork out of the way but will get interesting if we need the room!
We have now moved around to Santa Ponca, where we were just over two years ago, and are at anchor for the first time. Lovely after endlesss marinas. We've even had the tender in the water for the first time too thanks to Lagoon putting the up valve in the down hydrolic or the down one in the up, I can't remember which. Which I might add was not picked up by the people looking after the boat for 12 months or the so called "expert commissioning agent"! Tomorrow we go to Andratx Marina for the tables to get delivered and a few last minute jobs before heading via Sarinia, Sicily and Greece to Turkey for the winter. Unfortuately we need to move along a bit as we are running our of Schengen visaa time - 90 days out of each 180.

Mark Oh dear, navigation problems again! You’ll have to get that map situation sorted out sooner or later, but in the meantime, here is my advice on how to get yourselves to Turkey. First, check that you are actually in Spain. Next, I would normally just ask someone: “which way is Turkey?” But since nobody speaks English where you think you are, the best thing is to look at where the Sun comes up in the morning, if you’re up that early. It usually rises in the East, which is on the right when the front of your boat is pointing upwards. So to get to Turkey (which is always in the East), you just go to where the Sun is. But remember: the Sun moves ! So you have to stop when it’s lunch-time, because there is no “East” when the Sun is above your head. Sounds tricky but it’s really quite easy when you get the hang of it, just a matter of experience.
Mandy Mark, I am shocked, just shocked, by the assumptions in your very Eurocentric response (have you forgotten your antipodean roots?). Don’t you remember the Christchurch Wizard and all the effort he put into creating the New World Map where, if your boat is “pointing up” you would be traveling towards the Antarctic and thus East would be on your left? Years of his hard work negated so quickly. And writing that “Turkey is ALWAYS in the East.” I guess technically it is if you just keep going round the world long enough, but people in India might want to differ with you. I will grudgingly allow the fact that Debbie and Pete (and you) ARE in Europe but still, promulgating cartographical stereotypes need to come with some disclaimer, wouldn’t you think?
Mark Mandy - I’m just trying to keep it simple for Deb and Pete because they obviously don’t know where they are, or how to get to Turkey. And since they are in the SEA, and you live in a DESERT, I’m not sure how much value you can add. By the way, not everyone believes in wizards, despite how shocking that news might be to people in Sante Fe.
Ella ^ more proof that muggles are stupid
Deborah Hatherly People ae asking me - just who are this Mandy and Mark? I must admit that I thought I knew - seem to remember having a brother and sister with these names but am not so sure now, they used to be quite clever. Maybe we've given an open invitation to join us to the wrong people?!
Mark I knew it wouldn’t be long before other people noticed how valuable my advice is. But please don’t give out my contact details, it’s already enough dealing with all your issues from a distance, let alone the rest of the Mediterranean Fleet.
Mandy Mark - exactly. Wouldn't you have thought that an Older Sister might have planned a little better and not needed all your help and assistance??
Lees Just caught up finally.....so pleased for you both! The pictures look fantastic and it's very difficult seeing the beauty of the locations ...THE BOAT!...while we deal with...well....you know what! Car is going well and Millz is loving it! I'll keep you on my favourites bar and catch up more frequently xx
