So we got up around half 9/10, the irish guy in our room was still asleep so we tried to creep around quietly not to wake him! We got some washing done then both showered, went down for brekkie, made our lunch then did some research on Melbourne to see what we wanted to do here etc and how long we should stay. We then headed to a big supermarket 5 mins from us and did quite a big shop, getting food in for breakfast lunches and dinner for the following week as it all works out alot cheaper that way.
We then walked into town, which takes about 10/15 mins from our hostel but is a nice walk. We went to some cheapy shops to get a few bits we needed as it is a little like english weather here at the mo and I didnt pack to well for this! After here, we walked to the north of the city and went into Draculas Caberat to book tickets for Friday night. They are fairly expensive but its a night full of different entertainment and a 3 course meal with 2 free cocktails, its meant to be really good. We then jumped on a tram back down to the South of the city and walked back over the river to our hostel. There is a city circle tram, which does what is says for free, and it gives you all the info about the city and whats at each stop etc so really good.
We chillled out in our hostel for a while, then headed to the kitchen to cook dinner (chicken stirfry!), there is a massive kitchen here which is spring cleaned everyday so its really good. We had a few drinks as really cheap in happy hour then headed upstairs.

Today we jumped on the free city tram again! Anything thats free is good!! We stayed on and went for a tour around the city first. We then jumped off to head to Melbourne Gaol (Prison), North of the city. It was 20 dollars each and started with a guided tour around the prison. We were treadted like prisoners though, lol, we got given a card with a name on and charge etc and had to play that role. If we spoke, laughed or moved we got shouted at and called a w****er and made to move! We had to stand to attention at all times, it was so funny as you felt so stupid doing it but evryone did as they were told!! It was really good looking around and finding out about Ned Kelly etc.
After here we headed back into town and went to the Melbourne Museum, it was only 8 dollars each and we got to have a good look around at lots of different zones. Mike was quite disturbed after entering the body zone and watching a graphic film of a woman given birth, lol, it was quite amusing seeing his face! After spending a couple of hours here, we went back to our hostel and relaxed for a bit, then cooked dinner (chicken fajetas), they were sooo good! Tonight we ended up having a fair bit to drink, and after a few jugs of beer and many glasses of wine and spending the night with 2 girls from Perth we made it to bed!

We both woke up feeling a little rough and not remembering how we got to bed, lol! After managing to get ready and have breakfast we got the tram down to St. Kilda to meet Jonny who we first met in Thailand!! When we were waiting for the tram, this really sweet old lady started talking to us she was so funny, she was telling us how UFO's were causing blackouts and how i should wear nylon to stop the wind getting to me! Bless her! He took us to an amazing pizza place where all the pizzas were only 4 dollars. I had a nachos one, it was so so nice. After lunch we had a good walk around St.Kilda, its a really nice area and has loads of shops, cafes and restuarants. Later, we all got the train back into the city and went for another drink and to a few shops. Me and Mike then headed back to our hostel, we had a 4th guy in our room from Liverpool bu this point. Tonight we cooked a chilli which again was really good. Later on wwe walked to crown casino, a few mintues frm our hostel. It is massive, a huge complex and the casino goes on for ever! We spent a couple of hours there and possibly a few dollars playing on loads of 2 and 5 cent machines and roulette!! We didnt win any!

We got up today with a note from the Liverpool guy who joined us in our room, saying he was moving on but had left us thermals he had never used as he had come from New Zealand and said it was cold, which was reallt nice of him! They arent the sexiest of things but if it keeps us warm (Amy especially!) we're happy!
After doing the usual (brekkie and making lunch!) we got the tram to Victoria Market. It was pretty big and sold everything from clothes, to car boot stuff and food! The food section was so good and sold some amazing foods which smelt so good. So we had a good wander around and Amy tried a few things. We then walked back into town and Mike got a haircut for 10 dollars (there was much to cut but he is trying to keep the top a little longer, lol!).
We were back at our hostel at about 4ish then we both got ready as tonight we were going to Draculas Cabaret. We had booked our tickets a few nights ago as it was recommened by Lau and others here. It is expensive but well worth it!! When we arrived there was a massive que outside, the building looks all haunted and scary, lol and there are characters all dressed up trying to scare you. A group of people enter at a time and you then go through to the bar where i got a bottle of wine and mike beer, then we boarded a short ghost train into the main dining area. You sit in rows, there were about 200 people, whilst we ate our 3 course dinner which was really good, theer are loads of different performances, dance, comedy etc. Me and Mike both really really enjoyed it. Although I had drunk abottle of wine and cocktails I felt ok in there, but as soon as we left to walk home I clearly was drunk!!! I was shouted out all the street and shop signs on the way home trying to make a story out of them and started talking to some tramp who then wanted money which i refused to pay. Mike tried to pretend he wasnt with me, lol, i made him laugh tho!! Unfortunately your werent allowed to take pics but we got a couple!

Today we spent the first half lazy around and having a good sleep in! The guy in our hostel has been in bed for about 3 days straight and has turned slightly bizarre! He just either sleeps or reads his book while drinking banana milkshake and eating pickled onions out of a massive jar!!! So afetr not doing too much, we went for a walk along the Southbank River which was really nice and it was sunny so warmer than it has been. There was the buddah festival on so we wandered through a little fete. We walked back through town and stopped at cotton on (a cheap but good clothes shop here!) to buy me (Amy) some very cheap uggs (12 quid) as my feet have constantly been cold!
Tonight we were going to go into town for some drinks but we were both pretty tired and spent alot the night before so we ended up staying at the bar at our hostek with a really nice girl we have met from Manchester and an Irisgh guy. The footy was on too, so Mike was happy! There were some ozzy chavs staying as they were going to the footy game 2moro, and 2 of these guys were getting all angry and arguing, when they went outside another one starting telling me there life story and how they were brothers that hadnt seen each other for 15 years, they had different mums and one got beaten up and brain washed (i felt like I was on Jeremy Kyle!). Very random.

We have been to an AFL (Ozzy rules) game today at the MCG stadium in Melbourne. We booked our tickets a couple of days ago. The game was Carlton vs Collingwood. Its quite a hard game to follow but we managed to pick up on alot of the rules from speaking to other people etc. The stadium was pretty big and had just over 82,000 people today. We got seats really close, behind one of the goals. We both were glad we went as it was really good. We spent this evening packing as we left the next morning.
We have both loved Melbourne and although we have spent alot here we have also done alot so its been welkl worth it!!
