Hello from Cambodia!
I've made it safely to Siem Reap! Both of my flights went well.. For the most part. My first flight left 30 minutes late from San Fran, making my connection in Seoul, South Korea, much tighter. Lucky for me, the flight attendants moved everyone with a tight connection up to first class for the last 30 mins of the 12 hour flight so we could be the first off the plane. Holy moly, all I can say is, my back and hips would hurt far less today had I been in first class the whole time! Oh well, more motivation to work hard in school! Anyway.. I made it to my gate for my second flight with a few minutes to spare, and shed layers, as I got my first feel for what the weather was going to be like in Asia.
Upon landing in Cambodia at 10:30pm everything happened really quickly, I flew through immigration because I already purchased my visa online prior to my trip, which saved me a lot of waiting time. In addition, although practically every Korean airway staff member said my checked luggage wasn't going to make it with me to Cambodia that night, to my surprise, as I was walking out towards customs I noticed my bag ready to be picked up! What a relief that was to see. Next stop was customs which consisted of me handing them my customs card and them saying have a good night, no bag search or anything. After that, I found my driver waiting for me with my name on a sign and just a few minutes later we arrived at my hotel (see photos) where I checked in, got my final Itinerary from my guides, and attempted to go to sleep. I tried not to sleep much on either of my flights (so I watched 4 movies and day dreamed for hours instead) because I wanted to go straight to bed when I got to the hotel, but I still struggled to sleep. I did manage to get a few hours intermittently, and actually felt refreshed when I woke up this morning!
Today's journey is exploring the temples of Angkor Wat with a private tour guide. More to come on this later!
Ps. Florida's humidity has NOTHING on Asia's

Jill Reynolds Glad to hear your planning had a car and driver waiting for you (I worry as you know).
