Day 01 and I’m exploring the city solo.
Nothing planned so being whisked off by a tuk tuk round the city for a few hours gave me a welcome breeze in the warm heat. Dam the driver was amazing jumping out of his tuk tuk to take pics of me around different sites. Unfortunately after a call he had to rush off (not great being told you’re being left at a temple no way of knowing where you actually are) but one thing about the Thai’s they’re a big old friendly bunch of people - he’d rang his friend to come and take over after I’d finished musing through the temple. The second guy wasn’t as amusing but very well versed in the different places around Chiang Mai. No pics being taken from this guy though. I’d happily have Dam do all my sightseeing tours.
Temples are amazing even more so, witnessing a group full of monks in a painting lesson outside of one and another monk giving out sermons and chats with visitors. Had no clue what to do so just watched from nearby.
I know everyone’s already told me the food is well priced but im amazed at the amount of food you get for a couple of quid. I’m not going home any lighter if that’s the case.
Suggestion: go find the fresh fruit juice sellers - there’s all sorts to check out. They’ll even make you up a juice according to what ailments you have.
Right off for a swim now before night sets in.
