Kayaked down to Vientiane from Vang Vieng - Don't worry I havent turned into one of those strange sporty/outdoorsy types, just thought it would be more exciting than a bus for 5 hours! Kayaked along the river for a few hours, had lunch on the rocks where you could jump in (I chose not to) and then a pick-up truck took us the rest of the way to Vientiane. Not a great deal to do in Vientiane so heading straight for Hanoi in Vietnam. The bus takes 24 hours but it's only $18!!!
