6th - 7th October 2008: Today we leave Cusco for Puno, a day ealier than planned because there is going to be a public transport strike tomorrow which affects our travel plans. Have a last wander round the streets of Cusco, Naledi and I decide to treat ourselves to something to remind us of the amazing time we had on the Inca Trail, so she gets a ring and I get a necklace, both with the southern cross symbol on them. Arrive into Puno late and collapse.
This morning we have to move hotels so lug our stuff across town and stop at the market, where we buy supplies for the host families we will be staying with on Lake Titicaca. We buy milk, lots and lots of fruit, beans, tuna and some animal crackers. In the afternoon there is a massive thunderstorm so most of us seek shelter in an internet cafe and spend the afternoon uploading photos and catching up on emails. In the evening we have dinner and watch a traditional dance show - the dances and outfits are amazing and of course some of us get up and give it a go! We all head out for drinks afterwards and dance the night away - even the oldies!
