Emma's off exploring
25th September 2008: We've got another early start for our flight over the Nasca lines - which are a series of geoglyphs which were created between 200 BC and 700 AD by the Nasca culture. The best way to see the lines is to take a flight over them, so we get to the airport and clamber into our tiny six seater plane. The ride is a bit bumpy to say the least, the pilot does alot of sharp turns so we get to see the lines from all angles. Some of the lines are very impressive, including the hummingbird and astronaut, but others are much harder to see. After the flight we relax by the pool before walking into Nasca itself, which is small and dusty, but we get a good view of the largest sand dune in the world, which is indeed, very big.
