10th - 12th October 2008: We leave Puno and head around Lake Titicaca towards Bolivia. The scenery is amazing and we stop for lunch in Copacabana before catching the ferry and another bus. La Paz (literally ´the peace´) is anything but peaceful, we arrive to hoardes of street sellers and crazy traffic. It´s the last night of our tour so we all head out for dinner and drinks, predictably we end up dancing and don´t get home until the small hours of the morning.

Most of us are moving to a different hostel today so after a quick wander round the Witch´s Market (where you can buy any number of potions including llama foetuses, but I settle for a travel potion) we go to our new hostel which is lovely. We go for lunch and I discover possibly the best ice-cream shop in the world! After stuffing myself with snickers ice cream mixed with peaches and dulce de leche sauce we spend the evening planning our route for the next few weeks over a beer.

Toda five of us are heading to Potosi so spend the morning saying goodbye to everyone who is heading in a different direction. After five weeks travelling together it feels strange to be splitting up! We go for a huge lunch in an English pub and take a wander through the markets before catching our night bus at 8.30. After getting on the right bus, getting told it´s the wrong bus so getting on a different one, only to be told we should be on the original bus, we finally leave for Potosi!
