There isn't really much to say about hue (another city) because we only spent a day there at a very nice hotel considering only being £7 a night! We spent most the day resting other than going out in the morning to explore a little!
However there is a lot to say about our journey there! We heard about riding a motorbike from hoi an to hue one way, so thought we would give it ago! A journey that by bus with the driver actually knowing the way should take 3-4hours, but we had the worst map we have ever seen including literally just a line between hoi an and hue! Our journey instead took 8 hours!!! It was a long day!
We set off at 8.30am a man met us at the hotel to take our luggage and give us the moterbike. We didn't even start off with having any clue where to go and first needed to find petrol as they don't fill it up for you! So we drove around for an hour or so before going down a long road that turned out to be a deadend however finding petrol! After couple hours since we left we found our way to the beach!!! Which meant we were heading the right way to da nang! Once passing through da nang you make your way onto the hai van pass a road through the mountain with the most amazing views ever! However first time what we thought was the hai van pass turned out to be the wrong mountain after going all the way up and reaching a couple dead ends when up there! So back down the bottom of the mountain we went and asked what felt like a hundred people for directions none of them speaking good English and by then we were getting stressed we had been going so long and weren't even half way! Eventually it was so good when we did find the hai van pass and knew from then we would be on track!!! The hai van pass was amazing and we had the best time ever, the views were incredible! Also I (Emma) had my first go at riding the moterbike and I had the best time ever!! I think dom got annoyed cause he was no longer the only one who liked driving anymore so taking turns was in order!! Coming off the hai van pass we were onto the weirdest road in a strange setting but still the views were so nice, after over taking a lot of buses and a lot of hours later we finally arrived in hue! Yayy however not so good when you have arrived in this city and yet have no idea where the travel agents is to get our luggage! So it started again asking lots of people and after a few wrong directions we finally found it and it was a relief we were so exhausted!
We both agreed that overall we had the best time even though it had a few frustrated moments it was such a fun experience to have!
