We made it to koh Tao after a very long and tiring 16hour journey including a 3 hour boat trip! Our journey consisted of being dumped off on the side of the road at 3am in the morning waiting for a hour to get our next bus to pick us up when that finally turned up we were taken to the pier where we would get our boat to koh Tao, however arriving there at 4am and having to sit outside surrounded by Mosquitos for the next 3 hours until we got our boat!! But we made it happily in the end in desperate need of sleep!!
Koh Tao has turned out to be one of our most favourite places in our whole travels so far and that is because of DIVING!!!
We first enjoyed a couple day relaxing on the island as it was the first time we had seen the sea in so long and we had both missed it massive amounts!!
We decided that I would do my open water (4 day course) and dom would do his wreck, which he really enjoyed having 1-1 lessons and it was the best decision ever!!also because it came with 4 nights free accommodation, which was a massive bonus! Doing our separate courses was the first time me and dom had been apart in the whole 2 and half months we have been away, was very strange.
I had a very long tiring 4 days but it was all so worth it! I had a theory day, a day in the pool learning all the skills and then 2 days diving in the sea! The first two days were quickly over and it was time to go to the sea!!!
For my first dive I was so nervous and on each dive we had to complete some skills underwater too and the rest was just swimming around and I finally saw why dom was so crazy about diving it was amazing!! And I saw a turtle which made it even better! Every dive just got better and I loved it even more!! Felt like I was actually in the sea life centre the fishes were so colourful and the coral was so pretty!
Then my four days was up and I was an open water diver and was very proud of myself something I didn't think I would get while being away!! In the evening we went to the bar and they made a video of my dive group and our last 2 dives which was really good and was nice for dom to see what I had been doing!
Finally it was then time for me and dom to go diving together which made it all so worth it! The next day we went on two fun dives together with a guide and it was the best thing ever! It was so enjoyable looking over and seeing dom next to me, for sure made it my favourite dive I done! However Dom kept making me laugh and scaring me underwater which isn't the easiest thing to deal with, I could not stop laughing at one point! we saw a MASSIVE sting ray i couldn't believe how big it was and a blue spotted sting ray two along with lots of other different types of really big fishes too!!! And many cute and colourful fishes, the day went so fast and our last dive was soon over along with our time in koh Tao :(( which we agreed both to very sad about!
This whole week has been so surreal none of it quite felt real but together we have both loved every second of it and being able to dive together on our last day here in koh Tao just topped it all off!! This week is a week for me I will never forget and for sure am very excited for when we next go diving! Very sad that it is all over :(( now onto koh samui for a few well needed beach days!
