Emma's Adventures
Hey all from NZ!
I arrived safely on Saturday after managing to get a good sleep on flight from LA - not sure my neighbour did though due to my snoring! Anyway, my wonderful friend Fiona (aka Fiwi to those that know her from London) met me at the airport and has been a gracious host ever since.
On Sunday, Mother's Day Internationally except for the UK, we drove down to Hamilton with Fi's aunt to meet her mum for lunch and stopped off at a chocolate factory on the way back where I was introduced to Hokey Pokey - that is a chocolate guys before you get any other ideas!
Anyway, I am settling nicely into life in Auckland - even got stopped for directions twice yesterday, so I must look at home. I already have a job - just discussing the finer points of it and start date. I will be working for a HR Consultancy on a recruitment strategy project for the biggest gaming firm in NZ - time to brush up on my black jack skills then! Sounds interesting. So I just have to find a place to live - which maybe more difficult given you have to find nice fun and somewhat clean people to live with. I tried viewing a flat with the 2 males - but the lack of cleanliness put me off, although they did have a wide screen TV...tried the more mature lawyer, great apartment but no personality...so I will keep on looking.
Fi and I are off to Wellington for the weekend tomorrow. I am going to do the touristy thing on Thursday whilst Fi is at work, hang out Friday and experiencing the nightlife and then on Saturday we are going "tramping" Kiwi language for hiking, and sleeping out in a cabin - should be fun.
So that is all for now from Auckland. Hope you are all good and having adventures of your own.
