Emma's Adventures
So the time has come for me to pack up my bags (big bags) and leave Canada :-(
You will probably see from the pictures that I have had a great time in Canada - from hanging out in Vancouver to travelling the Rockies and let's not forget a visit to my lovely friend Amy in Seattle.
I have added some more pictures - sadly I don't have any photos of myself, Gayle, Dot and Graham taking part in the Vancouver 10k Sun Run, but I think I have covered all the rest, including my trip to Vancouver Island.
Last weekend Dot and I headed up to some wineries in the Okanogan. Canadian wines probably are not internationally acclaimed but after visiting some excellent wineries I have to say I am a convert! Needless to say I came away with some bottles.
So before I depart for New Zealand I thought I would leave you with my top 5 tips for visiting Canada - hope this doesn't offend any Canadians!
5. Remember that cars can turn right even though the traffic light is red - otherwise you may find yourself in a stand off with a SUV.
4. Dress code - a fleece, baseball cap and jeans will generally be ok for any occasion.
3. To fully integrate yourself just add "ay" to the end of every sentence and pronounce water with a d and not a t i.e. "wader".
2. Any establishment which includes the name "Bill" e.g. Buffalo Bills, Bill's Saloon, Wild Bill's, will always be a fun place to have a couple of beers.
1. If you really want to fit in and have a great time in any of the establishments names Bill's then learn the words to the great song "Save the horse, Ride the Cowboy".
That's all from Canada, NZ here I come. See at that airport on Saturday Fi!
Hope to hear all your news soon.
