We took ferry from Bali which took about 6 hours, it would have been faster, but the ferry stopped about 30ft from port because it was praying time. At the port, we got transfer to Sengigi where we found guesthouse for 50,000rp(?3) with breakfast. In the morning we went to the beach with our fishing rod and met a local guy called mohammed, he took us to the other side of the beach where his friend was spearfishing he had caught an octopus. He took simon spear fishing, but he did'nt catch anything, the fish were too small and far too pretty to stab. We booked a 4 day boat trip to komodo island and flores. Then met up with some locals we had met earlier that day. We got some wood and lit a fire on the beach and sat round it drinking arak (sugar wine) and bintang beer and had barbequed red snapper on the beach ,it was beautiful and really good to be doing as the locals do.
