Hi just a quick one to let you know what I'm up to.
On Thursday we caught a flight out of the very very hot Melbourne to the much cooler Tasmania (about 23 degrees at the moment), where we're staying with Kats family Robert, Robyn and their daughter Clare in Hobart. Its a lovely little city (more like a town really) with old buildings and gorgeous scenery and a sweet little harbour front with seafood and bars and stuff. Robert's house is in a spectacular location with fantastic views down to the city and over the river.
On Saturday Clare took us to the local market in Salamanca square in the city. Was very nice selling loads of Tasmanian made products and stuff, but started to rain a little so came home. In the afternoon Robyn kindly took us to a local wildlife park where we saw all kinds of native animals including the infamous Tasmanian Devil!
On Sunday we went to the Huon Valley (think thats right) where we swam in some natural hot springs and walked around the forest. It gave us a chance to see some of the beautiful Tasmanian countryside too.
Its lovely staying here, a much slower pace of life. Its nice to just chill out and relax for a few days and of course get out of the heat, although I'm sure I'll be begging for the sun again once we get to New Zealand!
