Emma's RTW Adventure
My first day continued...
The moment I stepped off the plane, the hot, steamy, humid weather hit me like a brick. The weather is so very different to England and is something I have never experienced before.
After some initial problems (and a small panic) finding Mr George, my contact in Shanghai, I was soon in his car being driven into Shanghai. He explained my choices and some decisions were made. I would be staying in Shanghai for a couple of nights and would then travel to Nanjing to join the Bellamy English School in Nanjing.
The drive from the airport into the city was horrendously frightening!!! I have never seen anyone drive, talk on two mobile phones, read a map, regularly change CDs, and sing a long all at the same time. I honestly thought I would die!
This feeling was not helped by the fact that Mr George was having difficulties with one of his schools (I think?!?)... This lead to a lot of screaming and shouting in Chinese. So now we had, driving, talking on two mobile phones, reading a map, changing CDs, singing, and apologising to me every few seconds for the shouting... Wow that man can multi-task!
