After breakfast and checking out, the girls and I went for a wander into the old town of Hoi An. The tiny streets are filled with low hanging lanterns and the riverside filled with little boats; a very pretty town. We browsed some shops where I bought some pretty bits and pieces and got some lunch by the river; it's a really lovely city and I kind of wish I had a bit more time here to get to know it a bit better. Plus the weather hasn't been too great and I bet it's perfect in the sun. I'm sure I will return.
We walked back and prepared for the long night bus ahead to Nha Trang at 6pm. It was nice that all 8 of us were able to get the bus together. However, the journey was not terrrrrrrible but it was the worst I had done so far! The only way I could think to describe it was like being on the night bus that features in Harry Potter (minus the Jamaican bobble head). The driving was ludicrous - constant beeping and swerving and harsh braking made for a slightly terrifying journey. We stopped for a while so people could get some food and use the toilets and then continued heading south. As the seats were leather I kept sliding down when the bus braked, and I was on a top bunk so occasionally held on for dear life. To top it all off Vietnamese music was then blasted through the speakers making for a very strange experience. We were all silently relieved and very pleased to arrive in Nha Trang bright and early at 6 am. At least we all survived together again!

Dad Your bus journey brings some funny images in my mind. Hanging on to your bunk when it swerved and sliding down your seat when to broke. Funny x
