After having successfully built a biker gang the night before, all 10 of us got ready for the long ride from Hue to Hoi An. Kindly, Dario agreed to take me on the back of his motorbike - so exciting. It was so much fun being in a big group with such lovely people as well.
We stopped along the way to take photos of some water buffalos and the breathtaking views of green mountains and blue lakes; it was so so beautiful. We rode for ages through little towns where all the kids waved and smiled and high-fived us as we drove past - so cute! The weather was amazing and in moments I thought to myself - I can't believe I am in Vietnam riding on the back of a motorbike through such incredible scenery; I'm so lucky.
We eventually stopped for lunch at a little seafood place on an empty beach before continuing. The next part of the journey involved driving over the Hai Van Pass with views I cannot even begin to describe on here. It was like nothing I have ever seen before in my life, driving over winding mountain roads with only the blue blue sea and mountains in sight - and we even ended up IN a cloud where we couldn't see a thing but coming out of the mist the other side to go back down the mountain was amazing. We drove through Danang as the sun set and when we finally all arrived in Hoi An it felt like such an achievement! We all survived the essentially 10 hour journey from Hue to Hoi An by moped - with only one minor accident and the loss of one gang member (who we found eventually!). It was amazing.
After a long tiring but great day it was time to get super super drunk and go out - which we did big time. We went to Why Not? Bar which was hilarious and so busy, and I saw so many people I had met previously in other places in Vietnam. A fun filled night out to end an incredible day.
