After a great nights sleep we booked a night bus, packed up our stuff, checked out and headed into the city for the day. With festivities still in swing Cusco was such a fantastic place to sit and people watch, enjoying the music and dancing and the sunshine!
We set up for the day on a balcony overlooking the square in a really nice burger restaurant where I literally was served the largest burger ever with a million sweet potato fries! Intimidated by the size of the meals at first, it turned out to be great - delicious and eaten at a leisurely pace whilst observing the locals in their celebratory fashion. We sat on the balcony for hours until we decided it was time to move on, and went for a browse around the shops. It was lovely having a chilled out day of not doing much.
It felt like we had actually spent quite a lot of time in Cusco, and I suppose it was 4 days in the end in total. We got on a night bus to Arequipa, a 12 hour journey which was very windy and bumpy butttt we did get served a meal and had a lot of leg room!
