After one of the most hungover mornings I have ever experienced we moved from our hostel in Lapa to our new hostel in Copacabana called Walk on the Beach Hostel. Both Liv and I already felt beaten by Brazil, but really I guess it just goes to say that the older you get the less able you are to function on a hangover - and the less able I am to handle my alcohol apparently!
We went for lunch at this really lovely Cafe and had huge focaccia sandwiches before heading to the one and only Copacabana Beach (Lola, she was a showgirl...). The beach was huge with large building blocks in one directions and mountains in the other, making for very interesting surroundings. The sand on the beach was a powdery white - not the worst way to spend a hangover! People constantly walk down the beach selling food, clothes, caipirinhas and it was kinda nice to listen to them yelling in Portuguese as we sunbathed for some strange reason. People in Rio are extremely attractive it would seem and we stared with jaws on the floor at super toned Brazilian men jogging down the beach in brightly coloured overly right speedos, and women strutting around in thong bikinis with the best bums I have ever seen. This beach was people-watching heaven.
After the sun went down we returned to the hostel for a chilled evening (still recovering) and did some organising for Bolivia realising we would be arriving there in a couple of days. With a load of stuff planned for the following day we decided to turn in early, save some money and heal our bodies - we still have 2 months to go after all!
