Terrible nights sleep, I don´t think that we are used to the temperature yet as although we are still in the mountains it is still over 20° at night. We had our first Mexican breakfast of omelette, bread and Mexican beans that were fairly interesting.
Went for a wander to the Zocalo main square but there were loads of protests in the square which meant no market or street entertainment which was a shame.
We then headed to the Palacio Nacional where the offices of the past Presidents of Mexico were as well as Diego Rivera muruals which were amazing. Little bit creepy with all of the armed guards around but they were filming some sort of war film in the courtyard below so we understood the extra protection.
We then walked over to the Templo Mayor where all of the old city has been excavated. Really beautiful but Mexicans don´t half have a funny way of expanding the city. Had a little look in the museum attached as well which was all about Aztec history.
Decided to head back to the hotel with a quick stop off at Cathedral Metropolitan.
Had a little siesta and in the afternoon headed to Almeda Central which had a great market and a huge park. Lots of beautifuol buildings and a few strange zebra crossings.
Went out for dinner at a little restaurant on our street. We paid 1.50 for a 3 course meal and we were stuffed afterwards.
