The first few days in Bangkok have been pretty good. After arriving at the hotel at about 3 in the morning on the 11th, we found out that we couldn't check into our pre booked room because apparently it was still the 10th, leaving us with the choice either wait 6 hours or book a room for the night! We're still quite jet lagged and the weather has been rubbish, so all in all, our first impressions haven't been good. After a tearful goodbye at Heathrow, our big adventure began! It was very strange stepping off of the aeroplane knowing it was a new day at home for everyone else, because to us, it still felt like the same day. We managed to find the right taxi to take us to the start of our 7 month journey and were immediately bombarded with 'lookie-lookie' men trying to sell us everything from rooms to tailored suits, shirts, trousers....and even the occasional class a drug...
