So the last couple of days have been a lot better. On Saturday, we went over to Hong Kong island to go to the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens (...the zoo!)
It was quite good considering it was free. There were lots of monkeys, apes and birds and the sun was shining all day so all in all, rather pleasant! Later that afternoon we wanted to go to the Ozone bar on the 113th floor of the Ritz Carlton hotel. However, when we read the reviews and saw that 3 mojitos and a round of mini burgers cost HK$900 (about £75), we thought this was a bit out of our price range! Instead, we walked back to the night market for dinner and bought our first souvenir of the trip. We then went over to the harbour to watch 'Symphony of Lights'. This is supposed to be a spectacular lights and lasers show across all the buildings in the skyline. Maybe we've been spoilt by the Disney shows that we've seen, but we found this quite boring!
After a terrible nights sleep that night (lots of noise outside the door, people having the longest showers at 1 o'clock in the morning and general noise outside), we woke up very late on Sunday. We went to Wong Tai Sin temple, which was very interesting. It was quite busy and we saw many people praying, donating money and lighting incense. After this, we got the train back to Tsim Sha Tsui and came across a shopping centre out of the train station. We had a little walk around then decided to go up to Eye Bar on the 30th floor...just to be a bit nosy. We ended up having a drink on the rooftop terrace and watched the sun go down which was really nice.
Yesterday was probably the best day yet - Hong Kong Disneyland!! It wasn't very busy at all, being a Monday, so we managed to go on every ride we wanted with very little waiting times. They have some of the same rides/shows as Disney world, but it was good to see how they vary. We've often wondered whether the fireworks at night are so good because they are Disney, or because of the Americans. We've now decided that its mainly because they are Disney, as last nights fireworks were very good.
Today is our last day so we are chilling out before catching the plane later on tonight. Next stop...Bangkok!
