Day 14/29 Vega de Valcarce - La Laguna We only had a short walk planned, mainly due to not being able to get accommodation at O Cebreio, so we settled for La Laguna a few ks shorter. Day 13/28 Villafranca - Vega de Valcarce A fairly easy walk today. 17k but mainly along a local road on one side and to Mike’s delight a good flowing stream on the other side. We stopped frequently to try and spot trout but didn’t see any. We passed through quite a few villages and ended in Vega de Valcarce. We are entering our third week on Camino, for this trip. Day 12/27 Cacabelos- Villafranca del Bierzo Feels like a day off as we only did 11k today. But we wanted to stay in Villafranca, and a good chance for Mike to carry his pack to see how his heel coped. A really lovely walk again through many vineyards on either side of the trail. Day 11/26 Ponferrada- Cacabelos We started the day with a walk out of Ponferrada, quite late - around 10. It seemed industrial and then we came across some lovely homes, sports fields – it’s Saturday and just like at home, kids sports fixtures underway. Spring time is beautiful to walk in. Day 10/25 El Acebo - Ponferrado A simple breakfast at La Trucha and we headed away around 0900. Vicky is walking with us today as Brian having another day off the knee. A very steep decent into Molinaseca took us just over two hours. We stopped for some lunch, cafe con leche and a jamon and cheese baguette.
