OH MY GOD IM SO ANNOYED i wrote out all these 4days and the computer crashed on the last freaking line ARGH!!
So unfortunately, here i go again... ok so this is my 4days of the Inca Trail...
DAY 1-How p*ssed off am i...i left my camera on the damn bus, i mean cmon! before i even step foot on to the trail, i lose my camera! i just sorta looked at the bus as it was driving off and was like..."i think i left my camera on there"...hahahaa! Nightmare, yeh so as you can imagin, for the rest of the day, i was NOT impressed at all! All the guys were really nice about it though, saying i could lent their cameras at anytime and that they?d send me piccys anyways! By the after i was just like whatever, an thought i mayaswell just get on with it and make the most of everything, i mean, it could have been worse!
So yeh, the veiws were pretty cool-it reminded me of just walking along a path in Ogmore or Southern down, where the paths are surrounded by grass and trees! lol!
Fair play it was hard to breathe today and hard work for someone sooo unfit hah!!
When we eventually got to our campsite everything was set up for us, and i mean EVERYTHING-our sleeping tents, our bags put in them,?roll matresses?cooking tents, dinner tents, the works! Then came afternoon tea-tea, hotchocci, coffee, biscuits, popcorn and cake! THEN a 3 course dinner! woohoo! it was all good!
DAY 2-So today was meant to be the hardest and fairdo´s it wasnt easy, but jeeze, not as bad as yesterday! Maybe its cos i was on the coco leaves today! Basically you get a wad of coco leaves and put a tiny amount of this black putty stuff that was apparently soda and i made your mouth go all numb haha! It was especially funny when you drank and dribbled haha!!
Today was quite solitary cos i went off on my own, but it was nice, gave me thinking time! There were soo many steps and dead womans pass (our highest point), nearly killed me! and it was even worse on the way down! lol the rocks were all slippery from the rain. So, as it was raining, emily put her bright orange poncho on with and elf hood and look all fly going down the mountain side haha! i must have looked like a right mup! hehe!
DAY 3-I was freeeezing last night, and ended up waking in an L shape all cocooned up haha! The view was stunning when i woke up! Mountains, hills, lowlying cloud-awsome! Santiago told us it was gonna be a long but easy day today, so i shoved the coco leaves in my mouth and chewed for 20mins to the first stop and was absolutely knackered and could hardly beçreathe cos the air was so cold! anyways i battled on haha and we went to see some ruins where, apparently, hunchback priests used to live! lol okaay! Ooo some guide tried to steal my walking stick, but santiago got it back haha!
So it ended up being me, lau, ruth, sureka, kerstie and sally haha it was so funny, we decided to take the old inca path, that lead us to a fallen tree across the whole path! This meant we had to climb through and under it! haha it was the funniest-6 girls clambering through roots of a tree haha! ahh dear! Then down some crazy ass steps and then for some reason, we decided it´d be funny to jump down the terraces, managed 3 and then they got too steep haha! As we were walking me and ruth deicded lau looked like a stick insect-arms, legs and walking sticks were everywhere haha! and for some random reason we decided to paint mud on our faces, put leaves in our hair, sing and dance down to camp shouting KUTCHIWATOS down and skipping into camp with all the porters laughing at us and calling us chica locas hehe!
So after a hot shower, yes, HOT SHOWERS woohoo! we made up a song for the porters, and after dinner we had a porters ceremony! They sang us a song and we all clapped and danced around the gas light thingy and then it was our turn to sing a fantastically awwwsome somg to 500 MILES lol! Great stuff...then came a night of drinking...even GREATER!! lol!
DAY 4-Happy days, we woke at 330am today to get to the entrance gate first lol! then had to wait until 530 for them to open haha! Not that it made any difference whatsoever that most of us were there first, cos we just got overtaken anyways lmao! We walked for an hour and a bit then reached the 50steps, which mayaswell have been vertical! Eventually got up them, which was especially difficult with cramped up calves and reached the SUN GATE! The view was pretty awsome-of Machu Picchu!!! So me and Dave toddled on down the mountain side path along with Pirates of the Caribbean on the ipod and admired the view of mountains, clouds, rich green vegetations, snow, and bright blue skies!
We got to the bottom anyways with everyone else and had some mint views of the ruins and took some group pictures! It was such a perfect day! After a bit, Santiago took us on a pretty interesting tour of the ruins and we had the opportunity to climb to mountain in the postcards-Wainupicchu (or something along those lines lol) but my legs were nearly dead so some of us went to the hot springs instead! hehe! Back in Cusco though, the best prize awaited us A FULL BODY MASSAGE!!!! woohoooooo! It was sooo lush!
The Inca Trail, despite being completely tiring, was absolutely awsome! Our group was the best and so was our guide and it was such an awsome experience (apart from our theif driver!! grr!!) x x x
