What seems like forever ago but just over 2 weeks ago we got an incredibly cheap bus from KL to Malaka. Malaka is a tiny little fishing village that mainly consisted of Portuguese and Chinese people that once got invaded by the English and now contains the descendents of a whole mix of races. The result is a lovely little town with influences from lots of different cultures. There is a little India, a Chinatown, shopping malls of course. We visited all of these places and wandered around like you do in towns. We went to the second museum of our trip, the museum of enduring beauty, which taught us all about what people of different cultures have done to their bodies over the years as a sign of beauty, like the Chinese binding their feet, and tribes wearing neck rings. We were walking back from tea one night there and a van stopped by the side of the road (scaring us a bit) and about 7 boys got out and asked if they could have their photo taken with us (amusing us quite a lot). We only stayed in Malaka for two nights as it was on the way down to Singapore.
