Dean and I volunteered at the Hiroshima landslides today.

Three weeks ago after intense rain there were massive landslides on the outskirts of Hiroshima. Claiming over 70 lives and some still lost under the mud and rubble

It was a tough day of digging through mud to gain entry into housing. And once inside clearing out the carnage there too.

A mix of emotions. Shock at the destruction. Houses flattened and cars crushed. Seeing belongings and toys poking through the earth. But also a sense of community and reward from meeting and working along side other volunteers.
