Arequipa is so beautiful, one of my favourite places so far (not as good as the jungle though, i dont think anything is ever going to compare to that) Will be spending till tuesday here we think. so a whole week pretty much. Not that we have time to kill.

So let me think whats happened. we arrived early morning on my birthday here, jumped in a taxi and found a hostel. We wanted to go mountain biking as something fun to do so we went round all the little stalls which sell touristy things. we couldnt get anything booked as all the activities were for the following day. So we ended up booking a mountain bike trip down a higher volcanoe Pichu Pichu. So i just ended up going shopping and doing not much at all. nice relaxing day.

I started to get a bad headache due to the altitude, yup it must be my turn. went out for a nice meal on the balcony over looking the plaza and sampled the famous pisco sour (national peruvian liquor).

Early morning on friday getting ready for the biking. Got picked up in a really nice 4x4, first luxury car for a while. 2 other girls from england were coming with us to. took 3 hours to drive up a rough track to just above the volcanoes crater. Got all kitted out in protective gear and then we were off. Very very bumpy track and even though some parts werent steep you still got speed. i still had my headache and as we were even higher that didnt help. i was aching the whole way down with my head, and my ribs complaining from past injuries(sandboarding). I was doing well until all of a sudden i just went flying over the handle bars. the bike came crashing down on top of me too. it all happened in slow motion and before i knew it i was on the floor covered in so much dust. Got up fine with just a few bruises and scratches. i really dont have much luck with anything we do. still managed to laugh quite alot about it.

We were suppose to be going to Colca canyon, deepest canyon in the world (well second deepest, by 205ft or something, the deepest one is right next to the colca canyon but is hard to get to so we´v settled for this one) My headache was really bad by the night so weve decided to rest for a day before going higher.

That brings me to today. yup well its defo a resting day, not actually done anything, will go book our 2 day tour to the canyon and thats about it.
