hey hey

Spent the past few days just lying on a beach, the weather has been perfect, nice and hot! arrived in Iqueque on Saturday evening. Still in the Atacama. sand dunes everywhere.

Everything here is alot more expensive like 6 pounds a night instead of 80p! Have managed to find a nice hostel though, plenty of backpackers finally. This is where they have all been hiding.There´s amazing surf here. everything is laid back and its just a nice atmosphere.

Went paragliding today, (thats me in the picture how cool) there are cliffs above the city so we drove up there and then set up all the equipment. Got dragged around abit by the canopy as the guy was trying to set it up. then all of a sudden he shouts run, and you just run off the edge of the cliff. then there´s noting under your feet!! really great feeling, just flying through the air. much more calm and relaxed compared to sky diving. The instructor would use the birds to see where the wind thermals where. Floated around for what seemed like ages. Amazing views of the ocean and the city and the sand dunes. We eventually head towards the beach (our landing site) we had to get some height so not to descend too quickly and crash into buildings. we flew over the city and went north towards the beach whish is near our hostel. I didnt see how we would land as there were alot of sunbathers, could picture just squashing them all as i landed hehe. landing was a success, much easier than i imagined. as soon as i put my legs down we just stopped. Helped pack it all away. Its amazing how it fits into the smallest bag ever!

Well we came to Iqueque to do paragliding and now that we´ve done it we are heading off to San Pedro, and little village surrounded by amazing landscapes. Will obviously let you know what its like when i get there.
