Another early morning, almost as early as the morning by Ayers Rock. This time the alarm was set for 04.00 am since the bus to Canberra left at 06.00 am. We arrived around 9.15 am and set forth to the hostel to grab a map. We bought some groceries and headed to National Library of Australia where we booked tickets to a exhibition called Handwritten but it didn't start until 1 pm. So meanwhile we walked threw some parks and ate lunch. Krista made some new friends, birds that sounded like robots. She's pretty sure that they are handmade in Canberra and released into the wild haha.
Then we walked back and got to see books, texts and letters from ancient historic people. For example Dante, Napoleon, Voltaire, Newton, Galileo, Dickens, Einstein, Darwin, Michelangelo, Luther, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart etc. Really cool to see their actual handwriting styles.
After this we went to see the old and new parliament house, not so impressive though. It didn't look very majestic. Nearby was the National Archives of Australia and they had an exhibition called Smalltown, photos taken of outback Australia by a man Martin Mischkulnig. He had some really nice pictures of the nature.
Emelie was now really tired since she only had slept like 9 hours in two days so she wanted to take a bus home, but Krista convinced her to walk the two ( only) bus stops we would travel with the bus, haha she said it would take around 10 minutes, but it didn't...
When we eventually arrived at the hostel we went to bed for a powernap, but Emelie never got up again until the next morning.
