Cloudy? Lets call that 'torrential rain with a chance of blue sky' instead? Definitely the wettest day since we arrived, in that there were more torrential spells than showers or clear skies! Given that someone (who we shall call Shane ) was a little 'under the weather' after last night's run in with the Patron and Coronas, we decided against an outing that involves dirt roads and requires a 4x4, with all the rain it probably wasn't a good idea on our own!
A 'home day' ensued - Leo was a frequent visitor to the reception area to switch movies and chat with random strangers from all corners of the world, I enjoyed the breeze out on the lanai reading a book on my iPad. Chay decided a walk was in order - until the weather gods tipped another bucket of rain over Kauai just as he was about to walk out the door!
We ventured out just after 6pm with memories of the coconut shrimp at the Kalypso, a very satisfying dinner involving mahi mahi and shrimp fajitas, a Hawaiian BBQ burger, steak nachos and calamari was also involved. We had another wander around the shops in Hanalei that were still open, waiting for tourists just like us. Back to our resort to settle in for an early night in preparation for our trip to Waimea Canyon tomorrow.
