Day 124 (Tuesday 8th March 08)

After a very sleepless night with the guys in the room above us getting in around 2:30am again and then making a lot of noise for ages. Sounded like they were jumping from one bed to another and at one point we really thought they were coming through the thin ceiling. Early start to go and get some breakfast, come back, get our bags and then check out. Waited with our bags for the guy to bring our big bags down to the pier. Were nearly late and missed the boat as the other 2 girls that were getting the same boat were messing around on the phone and then it was below them to carry their own bags from their room to the reception so demanded the guy to go up and get them. After the two women on reception getting annoyed with the girls (which was fair enough) we were on our way. Luckily just made the boat and found some seats. Saw Meera and Neil a bit further up. Soon fell asleep trying to catch up on our sleepless night. Arrived a couple of hours later in Phuket at the pier. Got off the boat with Meera and Neil, they wanted to come with us to Lotus Lodge that we had booked for ourselves to see if they could get a room. Found a very chatty and friendly taxi driver and half an hour later were dropped at Lotus Lodge. Luckily they had an extra room so the 4 of us checked in. It was so nice to smell the clean smell of freshly washed towels and bed linen and be in a clean place!! Got dropped down to Nai Yang beach for something quick to eat as we were now hungry. Then lift back to Lotus Lodge and had a quick sleep as we were all tired. Also wanting to make the most of the comfy beds! Up a couple of hours later and we went for a swim and used the internet until Meera and Neil appeared. We then all went for a long swim, very nice to have such a nice pool! Making the most of it! Stephen and the people he was with had appeared back so had a chat and then went for a shower. Checked the time on our print out for our flight to Singapore and suddenly realise that the date said the 3rd April instead of the 9th! Oopps! What a pair of numpties, we were sure we had booked it for the 9th! Checked on the internet but still said the same thing. Decided we would still go to the airport early the next morning as if we were getting the flight as hopefully we would be able to get on as had to be out of Thailand for visas! Got another lift with Meera and Neil down to Nai Yang beach and treated ourselves to massive prawns, mussel curry and all had cocktails in pineapples. A very nice evening. Lift back to Lotus Lodge to play more backpacker before sorting out our bags for the flight the next day.
