Beautiful weather today so we decided to be organised and get out before lunchtime and go to Portofino again. The public transport actually worked in our favour and we managed to get the bus down to Chiavari from Kirstys before setting of on the train to St. Margherita. From here we had to walk as the coast in to curvy for the train line. Fab walk though, right along the sea. We walked about half way and then noticed that we were miles away still and that there were buses going past us, so we jumped on. 5 mins later we actually arrived!

We spent the afternoon strolling around, its tiny but we just took our time and did some window shopping in the designer boutiques! Dan wanted to go swimming but there were hundreds of jellyfish in the bay that had drifted in and got stuck, very pretty to watch but not ideal for swimming with. On the top of the cliff is a castle, with a fab view so we paid to walk around there. Was interesting as they had pictures of all the famous visitors to the town since the 60´s. There was also a little bird that got stuck inside so I put my Rolf Harris shoes on and tried to save the bird!! It let me pick it up, after chasing it for a while, then the daft thing flew out of my hands before we could get to the door - got a pic though!!

Sat with the locals in a very nice cafe and Dan had the most amazing hot chocolate, it was literally melted chocolate with whipped cream on - mmmmm. While we were here we found out that Ed had passed his 11 exam so we had a little toast with our hot choc and coffee!!

Once back to Chiavari we booked our trip to Nice for tomorrow, which should be a good trip...
