On the road again!

The adventure continues. Our journey takes us to the South Island with glorious scenery and awesome geography! Back in the van for 4 weeks of fun and games!

We journied down to Christchurch from Picton after venture across the Cook Strait on the Bluebridge ferry, a rough ride by all accounts. It can certainly get windy down these parts! We were welcomed to the south by glorious sunshine which heated us up well!

A journey via the trans coastal train led us through to Christchurch. A fantsativ journey with ocean on oneside and mountains on the other. Amazing! The friendly and fun staff members led to an enjoyable 5hr journey!

A night in Christchurch and then it was on the road again in this time "Binney"! A van full of charracter! First destination Dunedin, the scottish city with fantastic architecture and good beer! Speights finest, the "Pride of the South" not bad..

The journey down was fascinating, the snow capped mountains of the southern alps can be seen for miles accompanying us on our way! Otago pennisula gives a fantastic view of the city. A couple of days exploring and touring the brewrey were great.

On the South Scenic Route to Invercargill (that I now know as the dullest place in New Zealand!) Nugget Head and Moetaki Boulders were a high light on our way. The coastal areas offer plenty of activities, walks in the bush or a dip in the ocean! The beaches are wonderful, almost untouched (maybe thats just the time of year.. its abit nippy!) The Petrified Forest at Curio Bay was an unbeliveable sight, the land formation and the power of the sea were spectacular!

Invercargill greeted us with cold wet weather and not alot to do.. Time spent in the gym and then in the pub for dinner (What a treat!) A Sunday Roast, tasted like heaven! Washed down with the help of a guiness by the log fire! Wonderful! We spent the evening watching England in the rugby world cup.. A drive on te beach, Oreti Beach and then back on the road and we didnt look back!

Out of Invercargill and full of anticipation to get to the greatest wonder of the world.. Milford Sound!! Again the drive didnt fail to inspire, a fantastic and fascinating country!
