well at a last minute decision stacey and i decided to leave Prague after we had finished recovering from our friday night, and leaft for a little town south east of Prague called Cesky Kromlov. (the place where they filmed the movie "Hostel") everyone told us there was a beer factory here and that made our minds up. After a 3 hour bus ride on sunday morning after a quiet saturday night indoors we arrived and already the view and the feel of this little town was breathtaking, unbeleivable and awful to think i would of missed out on this experience. dropped our bags down and checked in then straight to the pub. i forgot to mention i think that all Czech Republic currency is in the crown, now formally known as the crumpet, named by myself and it has just stuck. 15 crumpets is 1 australian dollar round about. we were buying huge pint of beers for 19 crumpets. i nearly fell over about the pirice, so of course we got aittle boozed celebrating the price of beer. the food is just so cheap in Czech everywhere so got this delicious chicken dish. just able to catch the end of the sunset then rolled off to sleep.
the next day checked out some of the awsome little shops around the town and looking at all the souvineres thinking of all my friends and family that would love them. but still only early into the trip, im not carrying around stuff for 9 months. We then got 12 busabout crew together to go rafting 10kms down the local river. the rafting was more like a wet pub crawl stopping at 7 pubs on the way down the river. the more we drank the funner it got. the river isnt the cleanest out, kinda smelt a bit like sewage. i didnt have the steadyest gait after at least 6huge pints and after slipping into the river a couple of times we arrived back at the hostel 9 hours later. finally cleaned myself up and we all got that river smell out of our clothes, ate some cheap packet noodles for dinner then only afew of us continued to go out into the little town. Stumbled across a horror bar, (after psyching myself out for abit, able to go into the bar) there were skeletons on the roof and what appears to be dead peoples faces on the walls. after the initial shock of it, remembered that they serve drinks at a bar and then i quickly started admiring the art. apparently this is the same quarters where people in medievil times got tourchered and killed here. The days work had finally caught up with us. left the other pub we went to and crawled into bed about 3am.
up early today to pack our bags, get some food, write in the blog and update everyone and now waiting for the bus to take us to Vienna. all in all i would highly recommend this pretty much untouched little town of Cezch.
