Today we went on a day tour to see just a few of the many temples of Angkor. We started off by going to the breathtaking Angkor Wat; the main and most famous and beautiful temples of the lot, I can't begin to describe the size and all the detail of the temple. Each wall had carvings into the stones of pictures which told stories. It took us about 2 hours to get around and see most of it. After we headed to another temple the Bayon. This was partly being reconstructed at the time so we couldn't walk around some parts, but again it was amazing it's feels like what you are seeing is not real. This temple was surrounded by wild monkeys- a little scary but very fun! Later we then headed off to the last temple we we're visiting- the tomb raider temple! This was my favorite out of all, not as big as the others but more surreal with the trees growing over the tops of the temple and the roots so big they took over whole walls wrapping themselves around anything they could! We have some brilliant pictures on the camera of us! Deffinatly worth nearly passing out about 20 times throughout the day due to the heat! In the evening we then went down 'Pub Street' to a Khmer resteraunt (traditional Cambodian food) where we shared a curry and make your own spring rolls. You got given cooked meat and salad and veg and the spring roll wrap and you made your own, they we're fresh/ raw and not fried so were healthy and very tasty, although Jordan's looked lot better than mine- his chef and OCD side took over.
