Well it certainly is beautiful. This is the one place I thought we were guaranteed sun.

Not the case. We arrived in the afternoon after 2 x 3 hour flights. Auckland to Sydney, then Sydney to Uluru. It was sunny when we arrived and so hot, 37 degrees.

The sounds of Silence Dinner was supposed to be a relaxing evening with lovely views of the Rock and an outback dinner. Complete with Croc, Barramundi and Roo.

The canapé and Champers was lovely. But hang on, I never ordered the clouds. They did roll in quickly and the lightening light show was not a part of the deal. We had just been served our meal when we were ordered to down forks and head to the coach. The lightening was too close for comfort and we had to abandon site.

Very disappointed, and very hungry, and tired.

I don't want to be miserable, but I suddenly miss my fridge and my bed, not necessarily in that order!
