Sorry its taken us soo long to update! As you may have noticed the last blog ended quite abruptly as the internet is not too reliable! We had an amazing end of that trip anyway and saw some awesome fish and gorgeous beaches as you can probably see from the photos! We jumped on a pick up truck anyway and headed down to the port where we hopped aboard a ferry which took us across the water to Ko Phi Phi, which is absolutly gorgeous! As we pulled in and unboarded we were swamped with touts trying to sell us accomodation and day tours! Luckily we managed to track down a representitive from our bungalows and were quite shocked when the transfer was him carrying our bags and us walking behind with a group heading to the same place! We soon realised however that this is because there are no cars or mopeds on Phi Phi! We arrived at our bungalow and were very impressed! It had a pool and was located very close to a stunning beach! We spent the rest of the afternoon by the pool and headed out to find somewhere cheap for dinner! After some thai food we watched a few tattoos being done along the street, also very very impressive and unbelievably sterile and hygenic (even the bamboo ones!) We resisted temptation though and headed to a recommended bar, it had a boxing ring in the middle and free drinks were offered to anyone who got in! I managed to persuade tom to stay out as it was our first night and i wasnt ready to deal with bloody noses and black eyes! In the early hours of the morning we headed back to our bungalow but struggled to sleep over the sheer noise of the frogs! Seriously i would rather of had a brass band by my ear, it would have been quieter! After a days chilling we headed around the little streets again and booked ourselves a tour to go to some stunning beaches and diving spots! After an early night and some heavy duty ear plugs we headed down to the beach to find our longtail boat that would take us around the bays! We selected some flippers and a snorkel and waited patiently while a thai man kicked and jumped on the engine trying to start it! Eventually it spluttered and with a group of nervous looking tourists we headed out to sea! First stop was called shark point and we saw some incredible fish! We actually saw nemo and all of his friends, they were every colour under the sun and ranged from about 5cm-50cm! We learnt to use our fins and soon enough were diving down closer to the fish! My favourite was like the old man in finding nemo, triangle shaped, black white and yellow with a white long top fin! Any way we climbed back into the boat and headed off to the next beach, we had lunch on yet another perfect white sand beach and then climbed back in and headed to Maya Bay! If you've seen the movie The Beach, thats the beach where its filmed! It was beyond words, no way to explain its beauty and we swam and lay for hours before heading off to another spot for snorkeling! We were abit more used to the fins by now and jumped in! The corals were almost as amazing as the fish, electric blues and swarming with multicoloured shells and clams! As we clambered back into the boat we were shattered! A long day swimming and the heat had really taken it out of us! Our captin took us around a number of absolutly breathtaking cliffs and caves and then when the engiine cut out in the middle of the sea, there were some very worried faces until he told us that we waited there to watch the sun set over the sea! It was beautiful! We headed back to the beach and strolled home to shower and change for the evening! Back in the town after dinner tom tried on his charm to get someone to fight him in the ring! No one seemed to keen though, until the ref was parading another guy around the ring! He was a bit bigger and looked pretty sober but tom was in there! We got some supporters up in his corner and as a guy pulled on his anklle supports and tied his gloves i was more nervous than he was! It was all very fast and by the looks of it very tiring! There was alot of sweat and shouting and i was in charge of taking photros and pouring water on tom between rounds! The other guy won but seemed to come off worse! Tom luckily woke wit no bruises at all! We had a fantastic time in Phi Phi and have arrived in Phuket to a lovely hotel and the most amazing sunset last night! Tonight we're off to see a huge show, you can probably look it up on the internet, Fantasea, Phuket Thailand, and we'll update you again as soon as we can! Love to everyone, Ellie and Tom xxxx
