It was back to winter temperatures today - it was 3 degrees but the wind made it feel colder. We had a couple of specific shops we wanted to go to today that were scattered across town so walked quite a few blocks again.
We ended up on the upper east side near Central Park. There were quite a few townhouses for sale in one street. Some looked as though they need renovating but there was a 4 storey one painted white with black window frames that I particularly liked. I wonder how much it was....
We walked back along the outskirts of the park down to the Plaza Hotel where we caught a train to Times Square. We needed to buy a bag as we have both bought some things which would put our bags over the 23kg limit. It doesn't cost very much to take an extra bag on American Airlines and we can take 2 each home from Dallas.
First of all we had a late lunch at Juniors. We had to wait about 30mins for a table. I wonder if they are ever quiet? It seems there are people eating in New York no matter what time of day or night it is.
We saw the ball that drops on New Years Eve in Times Square. It is pretty small. I don't think it would be that impressive. Sydney Harbour is much better!
We managed to fill the new bag between us - and I didn't think I had bought much stuff!
Later on we walked up to 5th Ave to see if the fake sellers had anything different. It didn't seem to be quite as busy up there tonight. The police had better control of the crossings and some of them were only one way crossings. It worked more efficiently.
Tomorrow is forecast to rain and snow but not stay on the ground. We fly to Dallas tomorrow afternoon so hopefully the weather won't be a problem.
