Eeyore on Tour
After a fairly uneventful flight, we arrive in Italy. It was a good flight with a nice chicken and bacon roll followed by a mocca iced bun and coffee.
We all plod through the airport following the signs for baggage claim. But we have to board a shuttle train first. We're not at the terminal yet. After a scramble we mange to get on the second train and all is good.
First stop Passport Control. Why is every passport control officer miserable? Did manage to get him to smile though, if only with his mouth. Still the same dead eyes!
Next stop, baggage claim. All the passengers have congregated around a stationary carousel. We're all staring at this inanimate object for about 10 minutes when there's a siren and the whole thing kicks into action. After a while our blue case is birthed by the great machine and we're ready to leave the airport.
We follow the signs to the train station and buy tickets from the machine. Took a little while as My Jaqjaq was trying to use it in Italian. All sorted and we're on the train. Half hour later we are at Termini station we safely navigate the Rome metro and get off at Barbarini, now a 15 minute walk finds us at our hotel. Phew. Got here. Didn't get lost once.
