Bali wow so lush and beautiful! Last night touched down in Denpasar after a really pleasant nine hour flight on good ole Air NZ.

After arriving in our hotel we headed out for a stroll in Kuta. Complete mayhem! Bikes and cars everywhere with permanent traffic jams on even tiny lanes "gangs" with the constant threat of being run over. Not the most of relaxing walks that's for sure! The incredibly friendly and always smiling Balinese don't get phased at all and graciously let you pass before you have to circumvent the next vehicle.

Kuta as we knew would be pretty insane with its westernised shops and bars with pumping music catering to the mainly Aussie contingent and the cheap Bintang beers. We did make it to the beach which was deserted with only a quarter moon to keep it company. I can see we will get fit with the amount of walking and the high humidity in 29 degree heat, so a night crashed out in air con. was bliss.

Today was more walking around followed by a one hour Balinese massage for all of $8 followed by satays (yes l'm pretty sure it was chicken), Bintang and hanging by the pool. I could get used to this.
