I flew up to Bariloche with the military airline (who use serving military pilots). Had one of the scariest landings I´ve ever had - was quite a lot of turbulance and also the pilots went low early and continued fast until the last minute. I think they just know what the plane can do but certainly felt different to your normal comercial airliner landing. Back to Argentina... I´ve been in El Calefate and the main thing here is the big glacier 80Km down the road (Moreno). It is a massive glacier that is slowly sliding into a lake at the bottom and bits break off every few minutes or so. Very big and very spectacular. Torrs Del Paine national park - the "towers of pain..." Most people seem to hike here for about 5 days but I did at least manage to spend one night in the park. I had a tough 7 hours of hiking up to the towers and back to one of the refugios (small huts/hostles that you can sleep in). "The end of the World..." I´m at the Southern tip of South America. More Southerly than New Zealand or Austrailia and in fact the most Southern town in the World. Below is only Antartica. The town is pretty isolated and has a good "feel" to it. It reminds me of Norway down here with the rugged natural landscape and the fresh cool wind.
