Machu Piccu today... It was an early start to get the early bus up to the site and be one of the first in for the day. The gates opened at 6AM and we had a short climb up to the top of the site (for the "classic" photo, example above). It was good being one of only about 15 people there and exciting waiting for the mists and clouds to dissappear and machu picchu to uncover itself below us. And waiting...and waiting... The clouds wern´t good to...

I´ve made it to a new country at last (Ecuador was too good to leave!) and am now in Peru.I´ve been travelling rapidly down the North coast but have stopped off at a few old ruins (Pre-inca) - a big ancient temple and an ancient city build of mud bricks.
