Ive been wanting to see the Registan since I first saw a picture of the place. The place is amazing and that is why you are getting a whole thread on it. They are supposed to be the oldest preserved medressa's in the world, anything older having been destroyed by our old mate Jenghis Khan. The cheapest way to Lake Aidarkul is by share taxi. From here to Navoi, then another to Nurata. Then you gotta hire the whole taxi to Yangikazgan and hope they come back the next day to pick you up again. It was a major slave trading post. Today it is a museum city.
