I got a share taxi from the Registan stop. The crooks wanted $50 to take me but I got it for $2. Shakhrisabz is the birth place of Timur and where he built his greatest building, the Ak-Saray Palace. I spent today walking around to the other sights here. Bibi-Khanym mosque, named after one of Timur's wives. The place was finished in the early 1400s but collapsed in an earthquake in 1897. Recently restored. You do realise ALL the buildings here are highly restored. Some as recently as 2005.
