I'm at the local cafe and the internet here works great. Yesterday when I arrived here I couldn't find the hotel I was looking for. I did find a couple of my second choices and after checking a few I chose Triomphe Hotel. It is not great but is OK and just near the corniche. I've come to Port Said for o see the Suez Canal. First let me say, they call it and "engineering marvel", well I call it a trench. There are no lochs in this canal, it is all sea level so they just had to dig a trench. A bloody big trench. It appears since 2015 they use an eastern bypass so not much goes through here at all any more. Looks like I should have stayed in Ismailia instead of coming here. I got the bus from Hurghada to Cairo cos it is easier to go this way, I can take the train from here to Pt Said. At the bus station in Hurghada a big fat Muslim Sheila showed up and I thought pity the person sitting next to her. She was massive. You guessed it, it was me. I came to an "all inclusive resort" for a change. It is expensive but so far worth it. The room I am in is the best room I have ever had anywhere in the world. It has sitting area with TV, huge bathroom and comfortable bed. All meals and drinks are covered so I'm trying to get my money's worth.
